This nationally recognized program is designed to empower people with Parkinson’s disease by optimizing their physical function and helping to delay the progression of symptoms. Exercises in this program help with balance, executive function, fine motor skills, gait speed & stride length. Group setting provides valuable support, motivation, accountability & FUN!

  • All levels of ability welcome
  • New session every 12 weeks; open & ongoing enrollment. Registration required.

The MBA program is designed to address the needs of individuals who experience limitations due to stroke, Parkinson’s & other movement disorders, as well as those who are dealing with conditions resulting from chronic illness and/or surgery. Trainers utilizes practical exercises & activities to increase balance, strength and mobility. Participants find the individualized program exceptionally beneficial and discover that working directly with the trainer provides structure and motivation. 2 times a week/this level is for long-time members who have been in the program..

Ride to raise money and awareness for our YMCA!

 

Get on the bike in February and ride as many miles as you can! Your friends and family will be able to pledge your ride. Pledges can be fixed or based on how many miles you ride during the event, with all proceeds going to the Grove City YMCA!

Riders who raise $100 or more will earn a Rally for the Y Challenge Badge on the leaderboard!

8 Week Program

Week 1: Learn about strength and resistance training differences between men and women. Discuss hormonal and BMD changes in seniors. Learn about at-home workouts. Discuss guidelines for older adults

Week 2 & 3: Basics of full-body training

Week 4 – Incorporation of routine and protocols (add an additional workout day Thursdays from 5-6)

Weeks 5-8: Continuation of routine and protocols

 

Week 1-3: Mondays from 5pm-6pm

Week 4-8: Mondays and Thursdays from 5pm-6pm
