Group Exercise (Grove City)

Indoor Cycling:
*What is Indoor Cycling? There is an instructor, music, a group setting and a program.  People who participate will tell you how exhilarated they feel for hours after taking an Indoor Cycling workout.
*Participating members have the potential to burn anywhere from 400-700 calories a class.
*FREE guest passes available for first time users.
*FEE: Members: $10 per month; Non-Members: $20 per month

Personal Training:
Train one on one with one of our certified instructors to get the most out of your workout.  Also, a great way to get back into a routine post rehab, childbirth, and other osteopathic problems.

"In House"-Personal training in the comfort of your own home.
$20 for initial Consultation and in-home interview: Prices and service at the discretion of the fitness director based on location, intensity of the training program and risk factors.

"Buddy Training" Grab a friend, split the cost, and get a great workout with one of our Certified Personal Trainers.

Spinnin' South for the Summer
Grove City YMCA's 1st Ride the Coast Challenge!
Spin the eastern coast line from Augusta, Maine to Miami, Florida. (Roughly 2,000 Miles)
*This summer long challenge will begin June 28th and end August 31st.
*Teams can be made up of no more than 9 spinners.
*Individuals can ride as well.
*All spinning will take place at the Grove City YMCA.
Each team of spinners will be asked to go out into the community and ask family and friends to sponsor their team.
Cost: Spin the Coast (no shirt): $10; Spin the Coast (with shirt): $20.

General Rules: 
*Each participant will be given a tracking card.
*For each checkpoint reached the card will be hole punched by a member of the Health and Fitness staff.
*The miles can be tracked two ways:
     *By participating in spinning class and having the instructor punch your tracking card.
     *Or by spinning on the two bikes next to the gym office, where you will let the staff on duty know that you are 'spinnin' south for the summer' and showing      them the miles you have traveled at the end of your ride.  They will then punch your card.
*Distance traveled will also be followed on a tracking board which will be in the gym to show how far everyone has traveled.
*There will be 19 major cities that will serve as checkpoints along the route.
Team Rule:
*In order for a team to advance on the tracking board the entire team must make it to the checkpoint.

"Y" Weight 2 Lose Weight:
It is a support system that helps members and non-members start and maintain a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and exercise.  We meet every Saturday morning at the Teen Center from 8 – 9:30 a.m.  Participants sign up monthly. 
Members $15, non-members $38.
We have the same routine with different activities each month:

1st Saturday – beginning weigh-ins & measurements, ice breakers, group discussion
2nd Saturday – weekly weigh-in, challenge, group discussion
3rd Saturday – weekly weigh-in, nutritional talk (Q&A)
4th Saturday – weekly weigh-in (end of month measurements), group exercise, group discussion
(5th Saturday – end of month weigh-in and measurements, surprise activity/guest)


Group Exercise Descriptions:
*Cardio Surprise: This class changes every time...it could be step, dance, high/low, depending on the instructor and day.  All choreography based.
*Core Synergistic: An intense (cardio/strength) workout that incorporates multiple movements in one exercise targeting your core.
*Dance-N-Play: So much fun you'll forget you're exercising! Blast calories with this high/low dance-based (choreographic) aerobic class.
*Indoor/outdoor Bootcamp: Get back to the basics for an intense workout.  Workout depends on the weather (all held at YMCA).
*Slenderize and Sculpt: This full-body workout will hep slenderize and sculpt those target areas while incorporating cardio and strength moves.
*Step: A cardiovascular workout using step patterns while incorporating high and low intensity into the class.  All levels welcome.
*Y-Pump: This strength training based class will include a brief warm-up followed by a variety of exercises to challenge all of the major muscle groups.  Exercises will include weight lifting and body resistance.  Add this class to complement your other workouts and keep those muscles strong.
*Zumba: Dance your way to fitness through this fun and energetic blend of ethnic dance-based aerobic class.
*Tia Chi: This class is referred to as "moving meditation"-practitioners move their bodies slowly, gently, and with awareness, while breathing deeply.
*Pilates: Traditional mat based Pilates meets low-impact standing strength work.  The focus is always on the core!
*Hatha Yoga: Gain flexibility and improve balance while learning relaxation skills.  All levels welcome.
*Power Yoga: A vigorous, fitness based class placing an emphasis on strength, balance and flexibility through flowing-style yoga and challenging ashtanga-style postures.  (Intermediate to advanced levels).
*Yoga: Enjoy an hour of strength, stretching, and a touch of siliness as Megan leades you in a yoga routine applicable to all levels of experience.
*Yoga Tone: A combination of yoga movements that flow together.

SENIOR PROGRAMS:
SilverSneakers I: Muscular Strength and Range of Movement

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills.  Hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Monday and Wednesday: 10:15-11:15am

SilverSneakers II:Cardio Circuit

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and ball alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography.  A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.  A great class for anyone!

Fridays: 10:15-11:15am

SilverSneakers YogaStretch:
While sitting in a chair, learn gentle stretching to help maintain joint flexibility and prevent injury.
Tuesdays: 11:15am
