Why Contribute?

1.  Your support is needed to provide scholarships to youth, individuals and families.  With this support we can provide financial assistance for membership and programs to people who do not have the ability to pay.  We turn no one away experiencing financial hardships.  $165 will provide membership services to one family for an entire year.
2.  Many programs and services are mission driven, which means we provide them because there is a need and not for financial gain.  Your support will help cover the cost of these services and programs so everyone can benefit from your support.  $1000 will help us provide free after-school tutoring, free aquatic classes for our senior population, free and reduced swim lessons and development programs for our new Teen Center.

Your Contribution Will Make A Difference In Someone's Life!

Assistance is based on the number of people in the household and gross annual income.  Financial Assistance Request Forms are available at the Service Desk.  All information is, of course, confidential.

Through the generosity of individuals and businesses our YMCAs were able to serve over 1915 members and program participants with financial assistance; nearly $100,000 in scholarships were awarded. Financial assistance is the fastest growing membership category, 19% of our membership base.

This assistance is made possible through the generous support of our members and the community partners during our Annual Support Campaigns.  In 2009, our volunteers raised over $135,000 to provide financial assistance to families, primarily for youth and family memberships.

Our combined campaign goal for 2010 is $169,300.  This increase is based on the current needs of our scholarship recipients and the increase of financial assistance awarded.

The Franklin Branch surpassed their 2009 goal raising over $71,000.  This has enabled the Franklin Y to provide and award 542 individuals with membership assistance and 497 program scholarships year to date.

The Grove City Y has received nearly $75,000 in monies raised and in kind gifts.  In 2009, Grove City's Support Campaign was able to provide and award 551 individuals with membership assistance and 325 program scholarships.

As successful as we are, we are still anticipating the requests for financial assistance exceeding what we have raised in support funding.  So if you have not yet given, or want to give more, your support would be greatly appreciated.
