The Franklin-Grove City YMCAs have experienced incredible growth and outreach. Providing membership and program services to over 21,000 unduplicated participants in our service areas, a 40% increase over 2006. The YMCAs Hero Scholarship program is committed to never turning a child away for inability to pay. In 2007 the Franklin and Grove City YMCA allocated $93,000 in Hero dollars serving over 800 underprivileged youth, families and adults.

After-school care is also available on a daily basis. Two programs exist for youth grades K – 6th. Our structured state licensed program includes snacks, games, arts, crafts, homework help and swimming and has 72 enrolled daily. Our recreational program which is staff supervised, allows youth ages 9-15 to come to the YMCA after school to play or just hang out. This program has an average attendance of 150 per day in Grove City and 30 in Franklin.
Franklin has a large pre-teen and teen population from 5pm -9pm. We provide supervision and recreational instruction for this sometimes difficult age group, averaging 25-35 teens daily. Summer child care is available for school age youth for ten weeks June – August. 150 kids will take advantage of summer child care in 2008. Summer “mini” Camp is offered to youth ages 3-5 (pre-school) for three weeks in the summer to help structure, engage and enrich these lives in a safe-familiar camp atmosphere. Summer Day Camp for youth ages 6-12 will be offered for eleven weeks in Franklin in conjunction with the Oil City YMCA and three weeks in Grove City. Approximately 80 children will benefit from our camps for the summer of 2008.
Both branches collaborate with their respected borough and city park pools to manage the outdoor facility for the communities. Our average daily pool attendance is 300. Our Youth Swim Teams involves 175 youth ages 8-18 years of age.

Franklin Branch YMCA
Membership has increased from 2221 total members in August 2007 by 22% totaling 2805 current members in spring 2010. 21% of our members are receiving financial assistance while 65% of the scholarships are for single parent families. The average household income for our scholarship members is $15,000.
Grove City Branch YMCA
Membership has increased from 3116 total members in August 2007 by 19% totaling 3816 current members in spring 2010. The average household income for our members is ten thousand dollars less than the average household income for Grove City area residence. Approximately 400,000 people walk through our YMCA's every year. Without collaborations like the United Way, our YMCA’s would not be able to impact as many lives as we currently do. By providing opportunities like the ones mentioned above, the YMCA’s of Franklin and Grove City continue to fulfill our mission.
