ServicesThe Franklin-Grove City YMCA is the largest provider of health, wellness and recreation in the Venango and Mercer counties. We have two fully handicapped accessible facilities enabling us to serve infants through adults including a large SilverSneakers® population. Both facilities are located adjacent to local elementary schools which provide a unique opportunity for the YMCAs as we serve nearly 150 children ages 9-12 every day after school.  Our Child Care departments provide licensed care from ages six weeks through school age serving over 175 children daily.

Being part of a team and witnessing our mission brings true meaning into a YMCA.  We are always looking for creative ways to introduce new programs, adapt old programs, and build our core values into each and every program that we do.

  • Child Care-Infant-6th grade, full and part time licensed child care and pre-schools for ages 3-5. State assistance programs include Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts and Keystone Stars Program currently at levels one, two and three for various sites.
  • Our traditional YMCA youth sport programs have increased 62% when compared to last year and a 71% increase from 2006. Youth & Family Services- Our main focus is on programs that develop athletic, social, recreational, and developmental skills for our entire youth and adult populations.  After school programming, mentoring, tutoring, adult leagues and specialty summer camps are strengthening our mission and membership value. Our traditional YMCA youth sport programs have increased 62% when compared to last year and a 71% increase from 2006. Jr. Penguins and Adult Dodge Ball leagues are two new programs that had high participation numbers and were highly rated in evaluations.
  • Teen Center- The YMCA has decided to take a proactive stance in the creation of this new program and continue its outreach and mission to help facilitate the needs of our teens.  We are operating now and serving teen’s ages13-17. We are thrilled to be able to provide a place for teens to be themselves, where they can engage in social and developmental programs with caring, qualified staff to mentor and guide them through their ever changing environments. Some specialized programs that will be offered include Homework Assistance, Drug and Alcohol Prevention, Anger Management, and Teen Pregnancy Prevention.  The center will be open Mondays through Friday from 11:00am-6:00pm and Saturday12:00-5:00pm.   During the day this center will be a Senior Program site where we will conduct social and recreational events for our large senior constituents.
  • Health & Wellness- Our Wellness Centers employ only highly trained and certified fitness professionals dedicated to the overall health and well being of our members. We offer a full complement of cardio and strength training equipment for various levels of fitness with instruction and supervision at all times.
  • Aquatics Centers- We house three pools and manage two additional city pools for their respective communities.  A calendar of activities, classes, and programs are developed for the various populations we serve. Program target populations include, seniors, the physically and mentally challenged, families and children of all ages, competitive youth and adults, and post-therapy individuals.
  • Membership- Membership provides full facility access and includes reduced program fees, pre-registration benefits, complimentary group exercise classes (both on land and in the pool), child watch while you work out, free fitness assessments, orientations with personal training consultation, after school supervision and programming, and progressive swim lessons for family memberships.
The Franklin Branch YMCA operates our membership and programs at 111 West Park Street.  Child Watch is currently at First Presbyterian church located directly across the street from the YMCA and outdoor programs are conducted at our City Park along with pool management for the municipality of Franklin.
