The FRANKLIN & GROVE CITY YMCAs rely on YOUR generosity to serve our communities. Please consider donating today! Click here.

The YMCA is a charitable, non-profit organization, whose purpose is to seek to improve the quality of community life by promoting the physical, mental and spiritual health of people of all ages, by encouraging family activities and by building respect for the individual in human relationships.

The FRANKLIN-GROVE CITY YMCA Board of Directors feels strongly that the YMCA is for everyone.  No one will be turned away because of inability to pay, subject to the availability of funds.  Our mission is to serve the people of our communities.

Scholarships are made possible by private and corporate donors, our "Everyday Heroes".

The YMCA believes that a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed if the Scholarship recipient contributes to the cost of their YMCA involvement; therefore, applicants should be asked to pay an affordable portion of the membership or program fees.  All application records will be held in strict confidence.

  • The Scholarship Scale will be considered when determining the amount of financial assistance provided. The scale is the federal guidelines distributed by the area school district annually. This scale is based on income and family size.
  • The Scholarship Application form will be completed by the member and will include at least two of the following forms: a copy of the prior year's 1040 and W-2; current pay stubs, and Social Security Income (SSI) payment statement.
  • THANK YOU: If approved, your membership will be subsidized through the generosity of our Everyday Hero Donors.  Each year we hold a campaign to raise funds to offset the cost of a membership for those who financially qualify.  As a way of acknowledging our donors, we require recipients of a subsidized membership to write a "Thank You" which will be sent to one of our donors.  If you prefer to remain anonymous, you do not need to sign the thank you.
  • Scholarship requests are managed by the professional membership staff with all hardship or unqualified applicants brought to the Executive Director for final approval. A Scholarship Report will be provided as needed and/or annually to the Board of Managers.
