Adult Learn to Swim

For adults with little to no swim experience who would like to learn the basics of swimming and water safety.  Bring a friend and be brave together.  You can do it!  Taught in an easy going autmosphere that lets you progress at your own rate.

Adult Swim Training

Designed to help improve speed, stroke technique and conditioning, this class will include perfecting your current strokes, learning new ones, training techniques, lap swim courtesies, and use of equipments.  This class will be hled during scheduled lap swim times.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Blended Learning Opportunity.
Prerequisites:  Must be 15 years by last day (Proof of age required), tread water legs only for 2 min, swim 300 yards non-stop freestyle & breaststrokes with proper technique and timed brick retrieval & swim.

Aqua Zumba®

 Aqua ZUMBA® is a dynamic water workout unlike any other aqua aerobic clas that you've taken.  Resistance training combined with fun aquatic dance moves will tone and sculpt your body while burning calories.  The music and the results will keep you coming back week after week.

Arthritis Water Exercise

A low-level exercise class for persons with arthritis or anyone interested in a less vigorous approach to water exercise.  The program is designed to improve joint range of motion using gentle stretching and muscle toning movements.  Conducted in our Big Pool the water allows muscles to relax and the buoyancy of the water assists in ease of motion.  Whether you have arthritis, have had surgery, or just can't keep up with a more strenuous class, this class is for you!

Arthritis Water Exercise Certification

Become an Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program Certified Leader/Instructor and teach others how to safely make physical activity part of their everyday lives.

Lessons I: Water Babies

This loosely structured class is designed to help the parent help their child ages 6 months to 3 years to become comfortable in the water.  The instructor will lead you through skill techniques, games, songs and free play that will prepare your child to learn to swim.  You will learn about water safety and accident prevention to help protect your child.  This class is held in our warm water pool for your child's comfort.

Lessons II: Pre-K

Pike and Eel:
These two levels are held at the same time but children will be taught skills according to ability. This beginning swim class is for pre-school children ages 3-5 years. Water and boating safety and water adjustment skills are taught as well as swimming with or without a flotation device. Taught in our spa pool, the shallower, warmer water encourages children to explore their aquatic environment. Class is limited to 8 students.

Ray and Starfish:
These two levels are held at the same time but children will be taught skills according to ability. Held in the large pool, these classes prepare your child for the more advanced swim lessons of Polliwog through Shark. Rotary breathing is introduced, as well as improvement of previously learned skills including floating, stroke techniques and decreased use of flotation devices. Safety is stressed, as well as introduction to acting correctly in emergency situations.

Lessons III: Youth

Polliwog:
For children 6 and older with little or no previous swimming experience. Gliding, floating, face immersion, floating skills, water safety, and beginning crawl and backstroke are taught at this level.

Guppy:
Designed for children who have passed either Polliwog or Starfish. Class includes continued development of water safety, front crawl with rotary breathing, treading, floating, backstroke and deep water skills.

Minnow:
For swimmers who have passed Guppy. Instruction aimed at perfecting the front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke. Diving, treading, water safety and endurance are worked on in this class.

Fish:
For swimmers who have passed Minnow. This class introduces the breaststroke, butterfly and sidestroke. Swimmers improve endurance and work on safety/rescue skills.

Flying Fish:
For swimmers ages 6 and older have passed fish.  This class introduces the breaststroke, butterfly and sidestroke.  Swimmers improve endurane and also work on safety and rescue skills.

Scuba Diving

For swimmers ages 13 and older.  Minors must have parent's permissin.  Learn the basics of this exciting sport.  Participant must bring own mask, fins and snorkel.  Tanks, weight belts, etc.  provided by instructor.  Call Jim for details on purchasing equipment.

SilverSneakers Splash®

Class is free with Adult, Silver Sneaker® or Family Membership.  A low to moderate impact water exercise class for adults.  If you are over 50 years young and would like to do some fun exercise in both pools, come and give this low impact, stretching and muscle toning exercise class a try.  We meet twice a week for an hour.  This is a great "in between" class.  You don't have to know how to swim to enjoy our class. We have a ramp into the spa pool and steps into the big pool that make access easy.

The W.A.V.E.

Class free with an Adult or Family Membership. Aerobics in the water are easier on the joints and water adds resistance and variety to your workout. This class offers all the essential elements needed for a cardiovascular workout, plus toning, strength and flexibility. Upbeat music will keep you going. A painless way to shed extra pounds and inches. You don’t need to know how to swim and there is no need to go in the deep water if you choose not to do so.
